Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine living life the way I’ve been doing since you came. As I recount our moments for these past two years, I am always beyond grateful to everyone who’ve made this ride a bearable one. But today, on your day, I wanted to immortalize more than anything, my love for you through words.
Felicity Lauren, the bringer of our immense happiness, thank you for giving me the honor of being your mother. I have loved people, also myself, in diverse ways, but the kind of love I have for you is on an entirely different dimension. You mean not just the world to me, but rather, every fiber of my being. It is true that there is no greater and more wonderful feeling in life than of what you have for your child, in my case, you.
Your smile tugs my heart in an instant.
The warmth of your embrace is the pinnacle of comfort I have ever experienced.
Your quirks, while they at times get to my bones, are equally entertaining.
Your longing for me, even in the slightest separation, is a bit troublesome but is predominantly amazing. I never had someone joined with me at the hip, almost literally, like you do.
Maybe in your eyes right now, I am a hero. But I feel like you’re more of a hero than I can ever be, as you can turn a tidal wave of sinking emotions into a serene and translucent sea.
In more ways than one, I am blessed to be your mom.
Thank you for your existence, Lauren. Happy birthday to you!
